Only 7% of candidates refuse to work on a shift basis

Analysts of the cloud-based CRM system for Recruiting Talantix conducted a study on whether the work schedule, conditions and shift method affect the effectiveness of recruitment. It turned out that the shift is an attractive form of employment. Only 7% of applicants refuse such vacancies due to working conditions.

For comparison: working conditions became the reason for refusal of employment in 8% of vacancies with a standard full-time job and in 10% – with shift employment. Today, the reputation of the employer’s brand plays a big role in the acceptance of scams by job seekers. Yes, due to the low interest in the company itself and its employer brand, every sixth (15%) applicant for shift vacancies refuses a potential scam.

The most common reasons for missed employment vary by company industry. Situations where the applicant himself immediately refuses to work on a shift are rarest of all in the field of mining – only 7% (of which 2% refused due to working conditions, salary and unattractiveness of the company, another 1% of refusals are related to hosting) . At the same time, another 74% of rejections are related to the candidate’s skills and qualifications.

The statistics of the reasons for refusal clearly demonstrate that employers began to attract applicants from the most sought-after specializations on the labor market. Thus, among all the specialists who were invited by employers to be on duty in 2023, painters and plasterers (77%), cooks and bakers (71%), equipment and technology repairmen (69%), turners most often refused it themselves. and millers (66%), as well as loaders (62%).

It is important to note that loaders (23%), tourism managers (21%), turners and milling workers (20%), auto mechanics (17%), and equipment and machinery repairmen are most often dissatisfied with the working conditions on duty. ( 17%). Part of the applicants are very picky about the job itself and the reputation of the company, for example, it is for this reason that repairmen (50%), turners (41%) and surveyors (32%) most often refused to work on watch.

Construction project managers (23% of them rejected the offer for this reason), quality engineers (16%), secretaries (11%), and chief project engineers were most dissatisfied with the salary offered in shift positions. , surveyors and VET engineers / estimators (6% each).

Experts note that if earlier the shift was closely associated only with the mining industry, today such vacancies are opened by other employers as well. And not only in the northern part of the country, but also in those regions where industrial enterprises are concentrated, where large road and infrastructure projects are being implemented and new logistics chains are being established
