Pupils and teachers of school No. 1 named after Ipolitava-Ivanova in Kostroma will be able to return to the historic building on December 2, the city administration reports. Cosmetic repairs are currently being carried out in several offices, which should be completed by this time.
We remind you that earlier – on November 5, classes were suddenly stopped in the educational institution. The school was closed on the basis of an examination conducted by the principal together with the deputy and the guard.
We remind you that this music school has been operating in Kostroma since the 18th century. It is located in an architectural monument of the 19th century – the revenue chambers of the Tretyakov merchants, located in the center of Kostroma since 1963.
Given the history of the eviction of the music college located in the same building, parents of students and Kostroma elites expressed concern about the fate of the school. Some assumed that “someone had an eye on the building.”
Let’s add that now the Kostroma Regional Music College is based in the Jubilee district. Earlier, officials promised to start restoring the building they vacated immediately after the move in 2022, but there is no information about this until now.
