Rescuers are searching for a missing British teenager in Tenerife. The seventh day of searching yielded no results
The search for missing British teenager Jay Slater on the Canary Island of Tenerife is now in its seventh day. His father called the situation a “nightmare.”
“I just hope somebody helps him off that mountain. That’s all I want is somebody help him off that mountain.” – he added.
Slater, 19, disappeared last Monday morning after trying to walk home from a music festival because he missed his bus.
Jay was last spoken to on Monday morning by his girlfriend, to whom he told her that he had gotten lost, that he had no water, and that his cell phone had only 1% charge left. Since then, no one has been able to contact him. At the time of the call, Slater was in the mountainous terrain of Rural de Ceno National Park in the northwest of the island.
Experienced hikers describe the return journey on foot as very difficult, taking up to 11 hours.
