Medical diplomas were awarded to 147 foreign students

KSMU graduate Rina Bernadetti does not hide that today is a special day for her.

– Good afternoon, my name is Rina, I’m from Malaysia, – she imagines. – Today I am very glad that I received a diploma, I became a doctor today.

Qualified specialists will be added to nine countries of the world: India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nigeria, Brazil, Thailand, Maldives, Myanmar and Nepal. But the geography of employment of graduates is not limited only to their native countries. Yesterday’s Kursk students work in more than a hundred countries of the world.

– Today we are happy and proud of our graduates, because our graduates are working in all countries except New Zealand, – said the rector of KDMU Viktor Lazarenko.

Some young specialists prefer not to leave the walls of the Kursk University. Currently, the medical university employs 9 foreign research and teaching staff from Malaysia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and India.

– More than 20-30 people who graduated from the annual program stay at the residency for post-graduate education, receiving narrow specialties, – continued the rector of KDMU Viktor Lazarenko. – But we are proud today that 9 graduates of the foreign faculty work at the university as teachers. Of them, three are candidates of sciences and one is finishing his doctoral thesis. And here, too, they work in some medical institutions of the city and the Kursk region.

Those who return to their homeland will already admit at the graduation ceremony that they will miss Kursk and the university.

– Tomorrow I will leave Kursk, – Rina sighs.

– Will you be sad?

– Strong!

Since 1990, KSMU has graduated more than 6,000 specialists from 74 countries.

– We were the first in our country to teach in English. The second is not our merit. These are the conditions that have been created in the territory of the Kursk region: the lowest consumer basket, security that is preserved despite all the difficulties, – explained the rector of KDMU. – Today, the level of teaching we provide and the level of knowledge we provide absolutely satisfy all students.

Despite the extreme degree of celebration, there was also a touching moment. As befits a true extended university fraternity family. The parents of the graduates, who came to Kursk on this day, literally from all over the world, brought modesty and soulfulness.

– My family is also here, this is my dad, – continues Rina Bernadetti. – And 13 people will still be there, all of them are my family.

In general, young foreign doctors travel from home to home. They clearly will not fill the shortage of doctors in Kursk.
